COMMENT: IPS HF Communications Warning 8 was issued on 7 December
and is current for interval 8-9 December. MUFs were consistently
depressed across the Australian region over the day, with stronger
depressions during the day and at mid-low latitudes. Blanketing
sporadic E-layer was also observed for 1-2 hours around midday
at several mid-latitude stations. HF frequencies are expected
to continue at moderately depressed levels for the next three
days due to continuing weak solar activity.
