AUSTRALIAN REGION SUMMARY AND FORECAST

1. SUMMARY (10 MAY)

MUFs:
   Equatorial PNG/Niue Region:
      Depressed by 15% during local day,
      Near predicted monthly values during local night
      extensive spread F observed.
   Northern Australian Region:
      Near predicted monthly values
      extensive spread F observed at night.
   Southern Australian and New Zealand Region:
      Near predicted monthly values during local day,
      Enhanced by 30% during local night.
   Antarctic Region (Casey/Scott Base/Davis/Mawson):
      Enhanced by 20% over the UT day.

PCA Event : No event.

Predicted Monthly T index for May:   9
2. FORECAST (11 MAY - 13 MAY)

COMMENT: MUFs should be returning to near predicted monthly values 
over the next few days. Extensive spread F observed at equatorial 
and some more northerly Autralian sites, particularly at night. 
Some spread F also observed along the eastern regions including 
NZ, particularly at night. Strong sporadic E observed in the 
south-east.
