<p><font face="Times New Roman" size="3"><span style="font-size:12pt">An incredible auroral display tonight! (I'm writing this just minutes after
midnight local time or 0600 UTC.) Deep red and bright green rays at times.
Sometimes just a wash of light. At one point I saw rays going upward above
me in a form that reminded me of the arctic crystal palace in the Superman
movies. Ripples went through everything. Some from the north. Others from
the south. They met in a multi-lipped convergence zone just a little south of
the zenith.</span></font></p>

moderate light pollution. By 0530 UTC it seemed to be over and I went
