night 1130 - 1230 UTC at least, not brilliant but obvious brightening of
Southern sky with streaks running from about 70 degrees elevation down to
horizon. This morning from 1930 - 2100 UTC very strong auroral backscatter VHF
radio signals from here to Melbourne , Hobart , Wagga and into South of New
Zealand. Had two way 144 MHz radio contacts with several stations on SSB.. For
