This was during a gathering of approx 60 amateur astronomers at the Little Desert Nature Lodge. Attached photos taken approx 11.44 and 11.47 pm on the above date. The Aurora was only visible to the eye as a ligher area of sky in the South South West to South South East with no real rays, curtains or pulsations observed visually but the Auroral activity was easily photographed in 30 second time exposures on DSLR cameras at ISO 3200. Many photos showing the Aurora were taken by amateur astronomers present that evening. Colors in camera were purple/red higher up, predominantly red to pink tones and just visable at 10 degrees or lower a faint green tinge. In Time lapse photography (at url below) that night moving rays are clearly visable. by anonymous without email From ips-aurora-sightings at listserver.ips.gov.au Fri May 5 11:29:57 2017 From: ips-aurora-sightings at listserver.ips.gov.au (Public reports of aurora sightings) Date: Fri, 5 May 2017 01:29:57 +0000 Subject: Report of Aurora Observation from Lake Ballard, Western Australia [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] Message-ID: Date: 16/07/2012 Time: 02:05 (LT) Location: Lake Ballard, Western Australia Type (Diffuse or Arcs): Colours: Extent: Other Details: On 16 July 2012 (2.05AM WAST), at Lake Ballard, Western Australia (29.4 degrees South), I photographed an Aurora. I did a large photomosaic panoramic image (with a Canon 5DII camera), and the red glow is clearly visible. The image was entered into the Australian Institute of Physics (WA Branch) photo competition, and it received first place in the open category. I wonder if this is the most northerly Aurora report in Australia during 2012 ? by anonymous without email From ips-aurora-sightings at listserver.ips.gov.au Fri May 5 11:44:54 2017 From: ips-aurora-sightings at listserver.ips.gov.au (Public reports of aurora sightings) Date: Fri, 5 May 2017 01:44:54 +0000 Subject: Report of Aurora Observation from Grant Township, MI (N 43.10, W 82.58) [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED] Message-ID: Date: 13/10/2012 Time: 04:00 (UT) Location: Grant Township, MI (N 43.10, W 82.58) Type (Diffuse or Arcs): Colours: White and green Extent: Other Details: TIME Z/UTC CONDIT.
