From anonymous at fakedomain.ips Mon Feb 3 21:02:29 2003 From: anonymous at fakedomain.ips (anonymous) Date: Mon, 3 Feb 2003 05:02:29 EST Subject: Aurora report Message-ID: <30.375ff933.2b6f9835@fakedomain.ips at about 2 am 3Feb03 saw a wonderful VERY fast moving, shifting, northern lights streaking east to west across anchorage skies, directly overhead, in lovely soft blues/greys. it was pretty much all in a single line, from one end of the sky to the others ... but in the middle there was the circle ... 3/4 circle that was rotating, with very fast pulsating, light racing around the circle ... have NEVER seen such in Alaskan skies ever ... and have been watching since 1952, when i first came to Alaska. just magnificient ... one of the brightest, surely THE fastest moving ... literally streaking light moving across the "band" ... and "loud" shield shaped patches along the band's route. Just fabulous, as I say. Do NOT know how long it was out before we saw it ... it was misty/overcast where our home is, so don't know how much longer they were out. VERY impressive. Hugs, margie.
