ISSUED AT 0520 UT ON 28 Sep 2016 by Space Weather Services
FROM THE AUSTRALIAN SPACE FORECAST CENTRE

Solar wind speeds are in excess of 600 km/s associated with a large
positive polarity coronal hole. If the Interplanetary Magnetic Field
(IMF) turned southward for prolonged period, the earth could
experience major storm conditions. Thus there is chance that aurora
may be visible at the local nights of today (28 September) and
tomorrow (29 September), from Tasmania and parts of Victoria,
Australia.
